PROJECT STREET STYLE.

(A LITTLE INSPIRATION FROM SOME FELLOW BRISBANE BLOGGERS: SOCIAL EMISSIONS, INSIDE IN INSIDE OUT, OPINION SLAVE, KONSTANTINOS)

Yes it's all about Brisbane leading up to the fashion festival... so here is another little something something that might peak your interests.  Westfield Chermside is holding a street style competition!! So all you fabulous Brisbane folk read the details below and get your asses down to Chermside next week!!

Calling all fashion forward Brisbanites: Westfield Chermside is on the hunt for the city’s undiscovered stars of street style. If you aren’t afraid to try tricky trends, love to mix and match and have a unique sense of personal style, you could be one of a handful of shoppers selected to compete in the centre’s inaugural Project: Street Style challenge.

Stylish shoppers of all ages are invited to attend one of three open casting sessions held at the centre’s Street Style Studio on Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 August, where they will be snapped by a professional photographer in their favourite off duty look. The top five will be selected to strut their stuff in an exclusive runway show for Brisbane’s fashion elite and compete for a covetable $1000 spring summer wardrobe.

Westfield Chermside Stylist Christie Nicolaides said the Project: Street Style challenge is about celebrating the way in which fashion is influenced by the people around us as much as it is by catwalks and glossy magazines.

“The street style phenomenon has exploded since blogs like The Sartorialist and Jak & Jil have made it part of popular culture – and with good reason. So often, our real fashion muses are not models on a catwalk but the people we see around us every day. For many of us, inspiration to try out something new comes from seeing it on someone we can relate to,” Ms Nicolaides said.

“This campaign is about celebrating the fashion forward men and women who drive street style and inspire us all. Whatever your age or background, if you’ve got a strong sense of personal style and love experimenting with fashion, we want to hear from you.”

Men and women of all ages are invited to enter by attending one of the open casting sessions at Westfield Chermside’s Street Style Studio, located outside Roger David. For those unable to attend the live castings, fashionistas can also enter online by submitting a picture of themselves in a favourite outfit and emailing it to fashionassistant@au.westfield.com along with name, address and contact number before midnight on Sunday 26 August.
